Security shouldn’t slow you down or hold you up. As cloud adoption matures, agencies realize automation is vital to their success. By embedding image scanning, runtime security, compliance, and forensics (along with monitoring into your DevOps process), Sysdig & Red Hat help you ship applications safer, faster, and securely.

You may have read plenty of recommendations and best practices all over the internet, and perhaps you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed. Where do you start? Right here.

During this workshop, we will break down and take a technical deep dive into Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform and Sysdig 's integration capabilities with your CI/CD pipeline. You'll notice a common theme: securing your DevSecOps platform. To read more on what each of these trusted public sector IT partners plan to teach during this workshop, see below.

RED HAT: Introduction to Openshift Container Platform 4

Openshift 4 is the latest build of the Red Hat's enterprise Kubernetes distribution. In this workshop, Red Hat experts will discuss and demonstrate some of the latest innovations and capabilities now being delivered in Openshift 4. They will also discuss how they benefit our government customers who are looking for a secure and efficient platform to build and run their mission critical applications anywhere.

SYSDIG: Securing your Cloud-Native Applications with Sysdig Secure

In this event, students will learn more about securing their cloud-native applications and environments with Sysdig. Sysdig integrates with your CI/CD pipeline and can help implement NIST 800-190 container security controls, out of the box. Security doesn’t stop after a container has been built, however. Students will also learn about container runtime security and incident response by using Kubernetes-native controls, leveraging tools to automatically build policies, and testing rules and policies from Sysdig Secure and Falco, a Sysdig project, that was donated to the CNCF and which is the de facto Kubernetes threat detection engine.

Students will need a DockerHub account and will be signed up for a free Sysdig SaaS trial account to perform the two labs. Kubernetes clusters will be provided as part of each student’s Kata-Coda lab training access. Students can sign up for a DockerHub account using the link below.
